What Does Stronger With You Absolutely Smell Like?
The Stronger With You line by Armani has been pumping out flankers like crazy, and Absolutely might be the most interesting one yet. This is essentially a vanilla-forward fragrance with a boozy, slightly smoky twist that makes it feel like you're sitting in a leather chair next to a fireplace with a glass of rum.
The opening is warm and slightly boozy — you get a hit of rum mixed with cinnamon and some dark fruit. It's sweet from the jump, but not in a candy shop way. More like a dark, rich sweetness that has some edge to it. Within about 15 minutes, the vanilla takes center stage. But this isn't a clean, bright vanilla. It's a dark, almost charred vanilla with smoky undertones that give it real character.
The dry down is where this gets addictive. It settles into a warm vanilla-amber-musk blend that just wraps around you like a blanket. There's a slight suede quality in the base that keeps it from being a straight-up gourmand and adds a touch of texture.
Performance — How Does It Hold Up?
Armani did well here. Absolutely performs noticeably better than the original Stronger With You and even edges out Intensely in some ways.

Don't wear this when it's hot out. The sweetness and warmth will turn against you fast. This is strictly a cool-to-cold weather fragrance.
The Honest Downsides
- Too many flankers. The Stronger With You line has like seven different versions now. Absolutely overlaps heavily with Intensely, and casual buyers will struggle to tell them apart. If you own Intensely, the upgrade is marginal.
- Sweet overload for some. If you're not a gourmand/vanilla person, this will be way too much. It doesn't have a fresh or citrus bone in its body.
- Not unique. Dark vanilla with boozy notes? You can find this DNA in a dozen other fragrances, some at a fraction of the price. Lattafa Khamrah gets you in the same ballpark for like $30.
- Seasonal limitation. You can only comfortably wear this about 4-5 months of the year. That limits the value proposition.
- The bottle is massive. That bear-hug cap design is cute the first time, annoying when you're trying to fit it on a shelf.
Buy or Skip?
If you don't already own a dark vanilla fragrance and you want one that performs well and smells genuinely good, Absolutely is a great pick. It's the best version in the Stronger With You line, and the smoky-boozy twist gives it enough personality to stand out from the vanilla crowd.
If you own Intensely, or something like Spicebomb Extreme or Khamrah, the overlap might be too much to justify another bottle. Test it side by side before committing.
