If the original Wanted is the guy who shows up to brunch looking fresh, Wanted By Night is his older brother who rolls into the lounge at midnight looking dangerous. Azzaro took the Wanted DNA and flipped it into a warm, spicy, tobacco-laced evening scent — and honestly, it works really well.
What Does Wanted By Night Smell Like?
The opening hits you with cinnamon. A LOT of cinnamon. It's sweet, it's spicy, and it's immediately attention-grabbing. There's some mandarin orange in there trying to keep things bright, but make no mistake — this is a warm, cozy fragrance from the jump.
In the heart, you get this gorgeous incense and tobacco leaf combination. It's not smoky tobacco — it's more like walking past a high-end cigar lounge. Rich, slightly sweet, and sophisticated without trying too hard.
The drydown brings in a creamy vanilla-amber base with some woody undertones. It settles into this smooth, almost dessert-like warmth that sits close to the skin and makes you smell incredible in close quarters.
Performance — Significant Upgrade
This is where Wanted By Night stomps on the original EDT. Being an EDP, you're getting 7-8 hours consistently, sometimes pushing past that. Projection is strong for the first 3-4 hours — people WILL notice you — and then it becomes a nice skin scent for the rest of the night.
The sillage is impressive for the price. In cold weather, this thing projects like it costs twice as much. Seriously, you'll leave scent trails in hallways.
When Should You Wear It?
Fall and winter, no question. Date nights, evenings out, dinner parties, holiday gatherings — this is tailor-made for cold weather romance. The cinnamon and tobacco really bloom when the temperature drops.
Can you wear it in spring? Sure, on cooler evenings. Summer? Nah, it'll be cloying and suffocating. This needs crisp air to really perform at its best.
It's versatile within its season — casual enough for a night out with friends, but refined enough for a nicer dinner. That sweet spot is hard to find and Wanted By Night nails it.
The Downsides — Keeping It Real
That cinnamon opening can be A LOT for some people. If you're not a fan of sweet, spicy fragrances, this will overwhelm you in the first 30 minutes. It does calm down, but the opening is bold.
There's also a synthetic quality to some of the notes that fragrance snobs will pick up on. Is it a $300-smelling fragrance? No. It smells like what it costs — good, but not niche-level smooth.
If you already own something like Spicebomb or even a tobacco-vanilla combo, there's going to be overlap. Wanted By Night isn't super unique in the "warm spicy designer" category.
The atomizer on some batches is hit or miss — some sprayers produce a wider mist than others. Minor, but annoying if you get a bad one.
Who Should Buy This?
Buy it if: You love sweet, warm, cinnamon-forward scents and need an affordable date night fragrance for fall/winter. If you already love the Wanted line, this is the standout of the bunch.
Skip it if: You don't like sweet fragrances, you live somewhere warm year-round, or you already have 3+ warm spicy scents in your collection. Also skip if cinnamon gives you a headache — there's no escaping it here.
Rating: 7.5/10
Wanted By Night is a genuinely impressive cold weather fragrance at a very competitive price. The cinnamon-tobacco-vanilla combo is crowd-tested and approved. It loses points for not being particularly unique and for that aggressive opening, but once it settles, it's a really enjoyable ride.
