Hawas Elixir EDP by Rasasi Review — The Strongest Hawas Yet or Just More of the Same?

Hawas Elixir EDP by Rasasi

What Does Hawas Elixir Actually Smell Like?

Rasasi has been busy expanding the Hawas line, and now we have Hawas Elixir — positioned as the most intense, concentrated version of the bunch. But does "elixir" mean better, or just louder?

The opening hits hard. Grapefruit and bergamot create a sharp citrus blast that wakes you up immediately. This is brighter and more aggressive than Hawas Black. There is also a red apple note that adds sweetness — similar to the original Hawas but somehow richer.

The heart is where things get interesting. Lavender is there, sure, but the star is this ambery, spicy accord that starts emerging early. It is like the fragrance cannot wait to get to the dry down. There is also something slightly ozonic — that aquatic DNA from the original Hawas is still present but dialed back.

Now the base — and this is where Elixir earns its name. Amberwood, musk, and what smells like a hefty dose of ambroxan. It is warm, it is slightly sweet, and it projects. The dry down reminds me of a toned-down version of some of those expensive amber-woody niche fragrances that cost 5x as much.

Performance: Is It Actually Stronger?

Yes. Hawas Elixir delivers on the promise of being the strongest in the line. I get 8 to 10 hours on skin, and on clothes it can last until you wash them. Seriously — I sprayed this on a jacket and smelled it three days later.

Projection is strong for the first 3-4 hours. This is not a "close to skin" fragrance. People will smell you coming. People will smell you after you leave the room. If you work in a scent-sensitive environment, be careful with the trigger.

Compared to original Hawas (4-6 hours) and Hawas Black (6-8 hours), Elixir is definitely the beast. But beast mode comes with responsibility — two sprays are plenty. Three if you are going out. More than that and you might clear out a restaurant.

When Should You Wear It?

This is where Elixir gets tricky. Because of its strength, it is less versatile than its siblings. Spring and fall are ideal — the amber warmth works when there is a chill in the air, but the citrus opening keeps it from feeling too heavy.

Summer daytime? Risky. That opening citrus will cut through heat, but the amber base might become cloying if you are sweating. Summer nights, though — perfect.

Winter is actually a good time for this. While it is not a heavy tobacco or oud fragrance, that amber-woody base has enough presence to not get lost in cold air.

Occasions: Night out, dates, social events where you want to be noticed. Office wear is questionable unless you spray lightly and your office is well-ventilated. This is more of a "going out" fragrance than an everyday scent.

The Real Downsides

Let us talk about why you might want to skip Hawas Elixir.

First, it is loud. I mean, really loud. If you prefer subtle fragrances that people only smell when they hug you, this is not it. Elixir announces itself. Some people love that. Some people find it obnoxious. Know your preference.

Second, the ambroxan-heavy dry down is polarizing. If you are sensitive to that sharp, synthetic amber-wood smell, this will grate on your nerves after a few hours. It is not subtle. It is not natural-smelling. It performs, but at what cost?

Third, the bottle design continues Rasasi's trend of "trying to look expensive." The gold cap and gradient bottle look decent but feel a bit generic. It does not stand out on a shelf.

Fourth, and this is crucial — the price. Elixir costs more than original Hawas and Hawas Black. You are paying for that extra concentration and performance. But at $60-80, is it still a great value? Debatable. There are other fragrances in that price range that might be more unique.

Fifth, some batch inconsistency reports. Some bottles smell stronger than others. Some have a harsher opening. Quality control seems to vary.

Buy or Skip?

Buy Hawas Elixir if you want a beast mode fragrance for under $100, you love amber-woody scents, and you do not mind being smelled across the room. It is perfect for guys who feel like their fragrances "do not last" — this one definitely will.

Skip it if you prefer subtle scents, if you work in close quarters with scent-sensitive people, or if you already own strong amber fragrances. It is not adding anything revolutionary to the genre — it is just doing it louder.

Also skip if you are buying it expecting "original Hawas but stronger." The DNA is there, but Elixir is its own thing. It is darker, warmer, and less aquatic.

Final Rating: 7.5/10

Hawas Elixir gets a 7.5. It delivers on performance, smells good, and offers solid value. But the polarizing ambroxan dry down and reduced versatility keep it from being higher. It is a great fragrance for specific situations, not an everyday workhorse.
