Khamrah Qahwa by Lattafa Review — The $30 Coffee Fragrance That Punches Way Up

Khamrah Qahwa Eau De Parfum by Lattafa

The original Khamrah by Lattafa was already a budget banger that had people comparing it to fragrances 10x its price. Now Lattafa dropped Khamrah Qahwa — the coffee-focused flanker — and the fragrance community lost its mind. But does it live up to the hype? Let me break it down honestly.

What Does Khamrah Qahwa Smell Like?

Opening spray: COFFEE. Like, in-your-face, freshly roasted, Arabic coffee beans. But it's not just a one-note coffee blast — there's cardamom mixed in that gives it this authentic Middle Eastern coffee house vibe. If you've ever walked into a traditional Arabic cafe, that's literally what this smells like for the first 20 minutes.

As it develops, the sweetness starts building. You get this rich, syrupy vanilla mixed with what smells like brown sugar and a touch of cinnamon. It goes from "coffee shop" to "dessert" pretty quickly — think tiramisu or coffee cake. The sweetness level is HIGH. We're talking Candy levels of sweet.

The base is warm, ambery, and still has that coffee thread running through it. There's a woody note in the background that tries to anchor everything, but honestly, this is a sweet coffee bomb from start to finish. The dry down settles into a warm vanilla-coffee skin scent that's genuinely addictive.

Performance — Budget Beast Mode

  • Longevity: 10-12+ hours. This thing is a MONSTER. You'll still smell it the next morning.
  • Sillage: Strong. Very strong. People three desks over will know you're wearing something.
  • Projection: Beast mode for the first 4-5 hours, then moderate. Even at moderate, it's still noticeable.

The performance is absolutely insane for the price. This hangs with fragrances that cost $200+. Two sprays is MORE than enough. I cannot stress this enough — do not overspray Khamrah Qahwa.

When to Wear Khamrah Qahwa

Strictly cold weather. This is a fall/winter beast:

  • Cold evening outings
  • Cozy winter dates (seriously, this is date-night gold)
  • Holiday gatherings
  • Late night hangouts when the temperature drops

Do NOT wear this in summer. Don't wear it to the office unless you work somewhere very casual. This is a loud, sweet, attention-grabbing fragrance that has a time and place.

The Honest Downsides

  • It's SWEET. Really sweet. If you're not a gourmand person, this will give you a headache within an hour. There's no subtlety here — it's a sugar bomb with coffee flavoring.
  • Overpowering if you overspray. One extra spray and you go from "that smells good" to "dude, back up." The projection is so strong that you need to be careful.
  • Not versatile at all. This is a 3-4 month a year fragrance in most climates, and even within those months, it's really only for evenings and weekends.
  • It smells "cheap sweet" to some noses. While the quality is impressive for the price, trained noses will notice that the vanilla and amber lack the depth and complexity of higher-end ingredients. It's good for $30, but it doesn't actually compete with $200 fragrances in terms of refinement.
  • The coffee fades. The star of the show — the coffee note — is mostly an opening act. By hour 4-5, it's mainly sweet vanilla amber. If you're buying this specifically for coffee, you might be disappointed by the dry down.

Buy or Skip?

At the price Lattafa charges, this is an easy buy for anyone who loves sweet, gourmand fragrances. You're getting insane performance, a genuinely enjoyable scent, and compliment-magnet status for the cost of a nice lunch. The value proposition is ridiculous.

But don't believe the hype that this is "just as good as" expensive niche coffee fragrances. It's great for what it is — a fun, sweet, loud gourmand that smells like coffee dessert. It's not trying to be artistic or nuanced, and that's totally fine.

Skip if you don't like sweet fragrances, can't handle strong projection, or if you're looking for something with depth and complexity. Buy if you want a fun cold-weather banger that will get you noticed.

Rating: 7/10

Incredible value and performance, but the one-dimensional sweetness and lack of versatility keep it from scoring higher. It does one thing — sweet coffee gourmand — and it does it loudly. For $30? That's a win. Just don't expect sophistication.
