Versace Eros Najim Parfum Review — The Middle Eastern Eros Nobody Expected

What Does Eros Najim Smell Like?

Versace took the Eros DNA and went in a completely different direction with Najim. "Najim" means "star" in Arabic, and this flanker was clearly made with the Middle Eastern market in mind. But does it work for everyone? Let's break it down.

The opening is still recognizably Eros — you get that familiar minty-green vibe — but it's wrapped in this rich, sweet, almost incense-like warmth that the original never had. There's an amber sweetness here that immediately tells you this isn't your standard blue Eros.

The mid phase is where things get really interesting. You get layers of oud (or oud-inspired notes), saffron, and a resinous warmth that pulls the fragrance into Middle Eastern territory. It's like someone took Eros to a souk in Dubai and it picked up all these rich, exotic spices along the way.

The drydown is deep and warm — amber, musk, vanilla, and a lingering smokiness that sticks to your clothes for hours. It's still got enough of that Eros freshness to not be fully heavy, which makes it surprisingly balanced.

Performance — Is It a Beast?

  • Longevity: 10+ hours easily, often detected on clothes the next day
  • Projection: Strong for the first 4-5 hours, then moderate
  • Sillage: Heavy — this fills a room

As a parfum concentration, Najim means business. This is probably the longest-lasting Eros flanker to date. Two sprays on the neck and you're set for the entire day and night.

When to Wear Eros Najim

  • Fall and winter — the warmth and depth demand cooler temperatures
  • Night events — dinners, parties, clubs
  • Special occasions — this feels event-worthy
  • Date nights — compliment puller for sure

Do NOT wear this to the office. It's too strong, too sweet, and too "evening" for a 9-to-5 environment. This is strictly after-dark territory.

The Honest Downsides

  • It's polarizing. The Middle Eastern influence means this won't appeal to everyone. If you don't like sweet, oud-ish, amber-heavy fragrances, Najim will be too much for you.
  • It barely smells like Eros. If you're buying this because you love the original Eros, you might be confused. The Eros DNA is there if you squint, but this is really its own thing. Versace probably should've called it something else entirely.
  • Overapplication is dangerous. Two sprays MAX. This stuff is potent and sweet, and going over two sprays will make you that person who clears the elevator.
  • The sweetness can get cloying. In warm weather especially, the amber-vanilla-oud combo can become sticky and headache-inducing. Know your environment.

Buy or Skip?

Buy if: You love Middle Eastern-inspired fragrances but want a designer price point. You want a cold weather beast that lasts all day. You're bored of the standard Eros flankers and want something actually different.

Skip if: You want something that smells like classic Eros. You live in a warm climate year-round. Sweet, heavy fragrances give you headaches.

Rating: 7.5/10

Eros Najim is genuinely one of the more interesting things Versace has done in years. It's bold, it's different, and it has monster performance. The only things holding it back are the polarizing profile and the questionable Eros branding. If you like rich, warm, Middle Eastern-style fragrances, this is a really strong option at a designer price.
